by MAUT designed and supplied the exclusive wall cladding for the lobby of Hotel Okura Amsterdam. A project in which aesthetics, craftsmanship and culture merge.

For this prestigious hotel, the exclusive gold-silk quality SEOL from by MAUT was chosen. The silk threads are inlaid by hand onto a high-quality non-woven backing. A technique that requires both precision and dedication.

The design is a subtle interpretation of the centuries-old relationship between Japan and the Netherlands. Against a background reminiscent of rippling water, silhouettes of Japanese red pine trees appear. Timeless and serene. The gold silk catches the light and brings the design to life.

The result is a wall covering that does more than just decorate a space. It tells a story. Of connection, craftsmanship and culture.
